Edenred Bulgaria Raises Over EUR 27,000 Through Edenred RUN 2026 in Sofia and Plovdiv to Support the Renovation of the ENT Department at ISUL Hospital
Edenred Bulgaria’s corporate charity relay race, Edenred RUN 2026, raised more than EUR 27,000 in support of Tsaritsa Yoanna University Hospital – ISUL in Sofia, bringing together the business community in two cities – Sofia and Plovdiv.
The event took place on June 17 in Borisova Garden, Sofia, where 105 teams from 56 companies and nearly 500 participants – employees, clients, and partners – joined forces in support of the cause.
For the first time, the initiative expanded beyond the capital city. On June 18, a second charity run was organized in Lauta Park, Plovdiv, by Reward Gateway Bulgaria, part of Edenred. The events in both cities were delivered in partnership with 5KM RUN.
All funds raised through the two events will be donated in full, making Edenred RUN the only corporate running event in Bulgaria that donates 100% of the funds collected.
Cause as Part of a Larger Mission
The funds will support the renovation of the First ENT Department – Head and Neck Surgery within the ENT Clinic of Tsaritsa Yoanna University Hospital – ISUL in Sofia.
The initiative is implemented in partnership with the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is part of a larger fundraising project aimed at raising more than EUR 250,000 for the complete renovation of the department.
The First ENT Department specializes in head and neck oncology and performs surgical treatment for more than 70% of all head and neck cancer cases in Bulgaria. It was the first department in the country to introduce the routine practice of reconstructing major head and neck defects using free tissue transfer. This complex procedure enables patients who were previously considered inoperable to receive treatment in Bulgaria and lead full and productive lives.
Despite the high level of medical expertise, the department’s facilities require significant renovation. The premises are outdated, and the existing conditions no longer meet the needs of patients or medical professionals.

Representatives of the medical community at ISUL also emphasized the importance of the initiative:

This initiative by Edenred gives us the opportunity to create a more dignified and supportive environment for both patients and healthcare professionals,” said Assoc. Business Supporting a Meaningful Cause
Edenred RUN 2026 once again demonstrated that when businesses come together around a common cause, the impact can be significant. Expanding the initiative to two cities and engaging even more participants is a clear sign of the growing commitment of companies to socially meaningful projects.
