Hyatt Regency Sofia: New General Manager Announcement
Earlier this month, Wolfgang Paczulla joined Hyatt Regency Sofia in the position of Cluster General Manager. Originally from Munich, Mr. Paczulla brings extensive experience in hospitality management, with previously held managerial positions in various destinations, including properties in Tanzania, Azerbaijan, UAE, and Russia.
Mr. Paczulla went to the Steigenberger Academy, one of Germany's leading hotel management schools, with a combined apprenticeship program at the famous Koenigshof Hotel in Munich. After graduating in 2000, he joined the Front Office department at Park Hyatt Hamburg. Following his passion for skiing, he soon moved to the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in St. Moritz, spending there 5 years growing to the position of Senior Sales Manager handling the leisure segment with specialization in CIS markets. In 2006 he received his first position outside of the old continent, in Ajman in the UAE. At the Kempinski Hotel Ajman he continued his career in Sales & Marketing for two years before moving in 2008 as Director of Sales to the Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinski in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A year later while continuing working for the property, he also became Director of Sales & Marketing for the then opening Bilila Lodge Kempinski, located in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. In 2010, he moved to Operations as Director of Rooms while the property rebranded from Kempinski to Hyatt. In 2012, he moved from Tanzania to Baku in Azerbaijan as Director of Rooms for Park Hyatt Baku and Hyatt Regency Baku. After two years he was then appointed as Director of Operations for the opening of Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights, a key property in UAE. From there he moved on to his first General Manager assignment in 2019 in the Hyatt Regency Sochi in Russia.
In Bulgaria, Mr. Paczulla will be responsible for both Hyatt Regency Sofia and the soon-to-be-opened Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort.
