One of the most significant deals on the real estate market in Bulgaria in 2024 is already a fact. The remarkable “The House with The Strawberries” now has a new owner. The sale of the exceptional property is the first deal in our country, realized by Christie’s International Real Estate brand, which demonstrates the globally recognized standards of the leading global brand. The process was fully confidential, as the building was presented to a limited circle of potential clients, selected according to strict criteria: ability to assess the public, historical, architectural and cultural significance of the property, financial capabilities and readiness to deal with public expectations during its restoration. The building was acquired by the company SiteGround, which undertook to restore it, preserving its authentic appearance, as well as its historical and architectural value.
The house is a distinctive symbol of the cultural heritage in Bulgaria. With its nearly 100-year history, it is a cultural monument of local importance. The architecture is the work of Georgi Kunev, who also participated in the design of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. It was created entirely in the Secession style, which developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and today is recognized as a historical and cultural phenomenon. Its symbolism can be found in every detail of the house, which met the highest requirements for an exemplary and elegant home for its time. The property has a magnificent garden, three entrances, a rounded veranda with exquisitely ornamented columns and a polygonal side facade with a covered balcony, which ends with a tower. The reception hall features an impressive preserved red marble fireplace, which depicts a painting, showing the lifestyle of previous generations. The wooden paneled doors, crystal windows and ceilings decorated with plaster ornaments in various shapes are jewelry crafted and part of the impressive interior design of the house.
